Every piece is sold through my Etsy shop, Scarlet Yarn by Rachael. When you press Buy on Etsy, the listing opens in a new tab and you check out there. Etsy handles the payment securely, so I never see your card details, and eligible orders are covered by Etsy Purchase Protection.

Etsy accepts PayPal, Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Klarna and Etsy gift cards for my shop. The options you see depend on your Etsy account and device.

Checkout happens on Etsy, which will guide you through signing in, creating an account or checking out as a guest where it offers that. Signing in lets you track your order and message me.

Prices on this site are copied exactly from each Etsy listing, which is where the final price is shown before you pay.

To confirm with Rachael: Several Etsy prices are odd amounts (£73.33, £76.67, £16.67, £133.33) that become round numbers with 20% added (£88, £92, £20, £160). Is Etsy showing prices without VAT, or are these the intended prices? This answer changes once you confirm.

I currently send within the UK only.

UK postage is added on Etsy at checkout: £1.50 for a print, £2.50 for a wash bag, £4.50 for a cushion and £6.50 for a lampshade.

Etsy shows an estimated delivery date on each listing and at checkout. Lampshades are made to order, so they take a little longer than cushions, prints and wash bags.

To confirm with Rachael: How long do lampshades take to make? The old site said 1 to 2 weeks.

Prints are sent flat with a card backing and a protective sleeve, so they arrive ready to frame. Frames aren't included.

Yes. Every piece arrives beautifully wrapped in my eco-friendly packaging: tissue paper printed with my drawings, tied with twine. It's either 100% recyclable or 100% compostable.

Yes. When you buy on Etsy, add a personalised message at checkout and I'll handwrite it for you. It's free.

To confirm with Rachael: Etsy shows the free handwritten gift message on some listings (e.g. the Urban Fox cushion). Is it available on every piece?

Yes. Enter their address as the delivery address when you check out on Etsy.

To confirm with Rachael: Are prices or receipts left out of the parcel? If so, this answer can say so.

Each design is made in a limited collection, and every piece is signed and numbered by me. I keep my editions small so each piece feels special: a little treasure that's yours alone.

The soft pile of velvet moves, so some bruising and creasing is natural. To keep your cushion looking its best, show it some love by stroking it in the direction of the pile. Covers have a zip, so the feather pad can be removed.

Dust it gently with a soft, dry brush or a lint roller.

A 300gsm textured artist paper that I chose for the way it brings out the detail in each drawing. Some prints are on acid-free paper. Frame them behind glass and away from direct sunlight to keep the colours bright.

Yes, my Etsy shop takes custom order requests. Tell me what you have in mind using the custom order form, and I'll come back to you about what's possible, the price and timing.

To confirm with Rachael: What custom work do you offer: other colours or trims (e.g. the orange piping once offered on the Urban Fox), other sizes, a design on a different product, or new illustrations (e.g. a pet)?

Wash bags can be returned within 30 days. Lampshades are made to order, so they can't be returned unless faulty. For cushions and prints, Etsy currently shows returns as not accepted. If anything arrives damaged or isn't right, message me on Etsy and I'll help. Your statutory rights are not affected.

To confirm with Rachael: Etsy shows 'Returns & exchanges not accepted' on cushions and prints. Under UK distance-selling rules, buyers can usually cancel within 14 days for goods that aren't made to order or personalised. Worth reviewing with Etsy's guidance before launch.

My Etsy shop doesn't accept cancellations, so please check the size and options before you order. If there's a problem, message me on Etsy.
